Abstract

Sepsis is one of the few complications of infectious diseases that is still considered one of the most critical and life-threatening. The frequency of sepsis is growing every year, which is facilitated by increasing resistance to antimicrobial drugs, the widespread introduction of new medical technologies, the expansion of indications for cytostatic and immunosuppressive therapy, the development of transplantology and prosthetics, as well as the HIV pandemic. This article describes and summarizes methods for the early diagnosis of sepsis based on a literature review of publications from different countries.
